As of July 1, 2023, LUUP's e-scooters are classified as "specified small motorized bicycles".
Please review the following information and park or stop correctly.
How to Stop and Park
- Specified small motorized bicycles must be parked along the left side of the road and must not interfere with other traffic.
- When stopping or parking where there is a shoulder adjacent to the left side of the road (excluding areas where stopping and parking are prohibited by road markings and shoulders used for pedestrian passage that are 0.75 meters wide or less), you must enter the shoulder and ensure that you do not obstruct other traffic.
-
When stopping or parking in a shoulder designated for pedestrian use
- You must align parallel to the road markings that delineate the shoulder and leave 0.75 meters of space on the left side for pedestrian passage.
- If the entire vehicle can fit within the shoulder, you must still maintain 0.75 meters of space beyond the left side, aligning with the road markings.
-
When stopping or parking in a shoulder not designated for pedestrian use
- You must align with the left side of the shoulder.
Places Where Stopping and Parking Are Prohibited
In principle, specified small motorized bicycles must not stop or park in addition to parts of the road marked by traffic signs prohibiting stopping and parking, including the following areas:
- Intersections, crosswalks, bicycle crossings, railway crossings, track beds, near the top of hills, steep slopes, or tunnels
- Within 5 meters of the edge of an intersection or a road corner
- Within 5 meters before and after the edges of a crosswalk or bicycle crossing
- On the left side of a road where a safety zone is established and within 10 meters before and after the edges of that part
- Within 10 meters from the position of signage indicating a bus stop or trolleybus or streetcar stop (only during the operating hours of the relevant transport system)
- Within 10 meters before and after the edges of a railway crossing
Places Where Parking Is Prohibited
In principle, parking is also prohibited in parts of the road other than those marked by traffic signs, including:
- Within 3 meters from vehicle entries to facilities or places designated for passenger unloading, cargo loading, parking, or vehicle storage or repair.
- Within 5 meters of the edge of a construction zone when road work is being conducted.
- Within 5 meters of the end of spaces designated for fire-fighting equipment or fire hydrants.
- Within 5 meters of the position of fire hydrant or designated fire-fighting water supply signs, or within 5 meters of a fire-fighting water tank's suction inlet or intake.
- Within 1 meter from a fire alarm.
