Some LUUP e-scooters are equipped with a button that allows you to switch to '6km/h mode'.
By switching to this mode, you are allowed to ride the e-scooter on specific sidewalks that have certain signs and displays.
Please utilize this feature when you feel unsafe riding on the road and need to push the scooter on the sidewalk.
How to Use the 6km/h Mode
There may be a button labeled '6km/h' next to the acceleration button on the right handle.
You can switch the vehicle to the mode where the maximum speed is 6km/h by pressing this button while the vehicle is stationary.
- Maximum speed changes from 20km/h to 6km/h
- Maximum speed limit lights will flash
- Press the button again while stationary to return to the previous mode (it cannot be switched while in motion)
※There will be about a 1-second delay before the change is complete after pressing
Riding Only on Specific Sidewalks with Signs and Displays
When in '6km/h mode', LUUP's e-scooter is treated as a Special specified small motorized bicycle, and you are allowed to ride on specific sidewalks with certain signs and displays.
Please be sure to check the surroundings for the safety of pedestrians and others while riding.
It is prohibited to ride an e-scooter without '6km/h mode' while limiting your speed to 6km/h or to ride on sidewalks at the normal maximum speed of 20km/h.
Additionally, riding on sidewalks without specific signs or displays is also prohibited even in '6km/h mode', and there are penalties for violations, so please be cautious.
